ok so we are back to unity yaah. Last term I really struggled on unity and to be honest I did not give it a fair shot. Game design or anything to do with games is my most hated part of this and I know for a fact that I will not go into this industry ever but I willing to try unity more this semester and who knows I might end up enjoying it a little. I can't hate it anymore than I already do .
For this semester we had two options obviously I chose the first option "create with code as I am not very skilled in unity yet and would like to improve".
the tutorial today was pretty crazy long and I did not expect it to take like 3 hours so I will have to give myself more time next week to do it fully. the first few steps were very basic I just had to Crete folders, name them and import a few assists after the easy work was finished I finally started something a little challenging. adding a vehicle was difficult as for some reason it wouldn't open for ages but I finally got it. the main part of this was positioning the camera. the code kind of confused me and I had to look up extra tips but I finally got it. start your engines was actually pretty easy but it did take me over an hour so I had too rush the final two tutorials.
the second lesson broke down c script really well as that is definitely something which I did not understand fully in semester 1 . I had to open the script in visual studio first. my main problem was when we had to call, something vector 3. this confused me as for some reason the car I imported was not actually called vector 3 and it took me ages to figure out that. I like how you to customise the vehicles speed I actually put the speed higher than the tutorial suggested but it still worked out party fine. I did not get the obstacles to work as they just seemed to get in the way of my car but this was taking me way too long so I decided to move onto the 3rd and final tutorial.
The 3rd lesson was called "High speed chase and I must say that this was by far the most interesting tutorial of the whole lot. the coding became a stress at times but once I calmed down and read the instructions I got it fully.
overall I enjoyed these tutorials today more than any I have done last term and I look forward to exploring unity more in the coming weeks.
