Introduction Post

My name is Aaron Comiskey and I am 20 years old. I currently study CDM in Blanchardstown and I love the course. I live in Kilmessan, Meath with my family but I hope to move out soon when I get enough money together. I want to be a video editor when I am finished college and maybe work for companies such as BBC or RTE(you have to aim big or you will fail). During this term I want to get better at all things to do with video but I also want to give the other stuff like web design and game development a chance as I may end up loving them and actually want to go into that area after college.

I have many hobbies. I am big into the gym and love lifting weights , it makes you feel better and look better so why not do it. I love football and I am a huge Manchester United fan even though we are rubbish now. I play tennis the odd time when I am not too busy also.

I post fitness content online not to show off my body or muscles (even though I am proud of the results) More so that I can keep up editing and have content to show future employers.
this is one my latest insta posts (Gainz are being made)
I am constantly trying to better myself in everything I do.I also love gaming even though I very rarely get time to play  games anymore. I love fifa and it really helps me relax after a hard day.

I also love cooking, as I am big into the gym and changing my body so I have to cook my own food as I need to track what I eat and hit certain macros each day. My favourite food would have to be my own home made spicy rice  . I usually add chicken into it. I am not that big into fast food but if I was to ever get fast food I would get a subway. I hate tomatoes and I cant even look at them without feeling sick.

Another thing I am big into is travelling and seeing new places although I do not get to do that too much now as I have little money and I am very busy. I hope to visit every continent in my life time. there is so many amazing places in this world and I think everyone should experience them at least once.

another goal I have in life is to hopefully see the Ireland soccer team do well and go deep into a major tournament before I die. even though I know the chances of that are slim. I also hope to have a son who will become a professional football player in the premier league . I will train my son from the age of  3 and get him practicing from morning to noon and I will bring him to special one on one coaching to make sure he goes pro. I wish I had done this when I was younger.

Overall I am very happy where my life is going at the moment and I am sure it will only get better

  1. Hi Aaron,

    I enjoyed reading your blog!

It's good to be open minded in college- you never know what you might like! I for one had a surprising revelation that I really like to film through my time in the course so far, even though my heart was set on design since I started studying here.

I like how you're aiming high to work for RTE or BBC- it keeps you motivated and you know what you need to do to get there! I'm not entirely sure myself exactly what I want to do, but I do know I'm loving design so perhaps in a design studio.

I'd also love to travel! I havent really travelled much since money is somewhat of a struggle, but it's my dream to tour Scandinavia and Asia. I agree with you that people should travel more- there's so many places on this Earth so why just stick to being in one part of it? I'd love to work abroad for a period of time someday!

I'm glad you're happy with where you're at in life right now, hopefully it only goes up from here!

I look forward fo reading more of your blogs!

  2. Hi Aaron!

I read that you also want to be a video editor just like me! I think it's a great field in the industry, you are in power in what you decide to edit and what you don't and I think that's exciting! I also see you like food and traveling too. I think you're right when you say people should travel and experience everything at least once in their lives. Is there any places in particular you want to visit?

Can't wait to read more of your blogs!

  3. Hola Aaron,

It was cool reading through your blog, I too am studying CDM in Blanchardstown believe it or not. It's really cool to see people with big aspirations like how you mentioned working for BBC or RTE, since a lot of people just wing it or doubt themselves about how far they can get. Tomatoes are also the spawn of Satan, just thought i'd throw that out there, hate them as well oddly enough. Also nice to see you're a big football fan, I'm an Arsenal supporter myself, I used to be a huge fan a few years ago but now I've lost most of my interest in it. I still try to keep up to date though.
    Anyways sweet blog,

  4. Hello Aaron, I have just read through your introduction and I think it is very good. I am interested in all the things you had to say on your intro blog. I find it quite fascinating you wish to work for RTE or BBC when you are older (or as you put it 'you gotta aim high' ). I didn't know you did fitness training and posted information about it online. I look forward to reading the rest of your posts.

  5. Hey Aaron,
I really enjoyed reading your blog nice to see that you are open minded about what you want to do after college but you are also mainly focusing on video editing I also go to the gym now and then when I get the chance so nice to see you are really into fitness. I also really love cooking and travelling but as you said travelling can be expensive which is hard for us college students anyway I will leave it I hope to read more from you soon.

  6. Hi Aaron,

I really enjoyed reading all about you in your introduction post. It was a little hard to find as there was no 'introduction' label (you can easily edit this to make it easier).

It's great to hear that you like the course and pretty set in your ways on video editing while also remaining to have an open mind. I wish you the best in whatever you end up doing!

prototype

Over the past week I have had so many assignments to submit and with the blogs we have to do each week I have not have had much time to work on my game in unity. I have been watching the two tutorials that I linked in my previous game idea and I have drawn up a few prototypes on sheets of paper. By next week I hope to have a good bit of my game complete to show you. I am happy with the vision for my game. My level is not going to be very complicates as I find if I add too much into it that it will just become confusing and I will not be able to complete it. I want my final game to hopefully be fully complete . Everything in my game is going good except for the fact that unity is limited and its hard to customise weapons, characters and other things as you are very limited by the options it has on it. that is a screenshot from the tutorial I am using . for my game there is a lot I still have to consider. I have to try add in sound efects but not ones that sound really bad and

Game Brainstorm

Before I even started this blog, I researched for about 35 minutes and found many games that I wanted to base my idea off. These 4 ideas are very different and I will probably go with the one that is easiest to make with unity. So for my first idea I looked up puzzle games. Puzzle games are something that really interest me as you feel so great when you finally crack the puzzle and figure it all out. for this research I used this website that really helped me understand what makes a good puzzle game. from reading this article I found that puzzle games have to be challenging but you have to be subtly pushing the player of the game towards the correct solution. you need to play test every puzzle first to see if it works and do not make it too difficult as the player will get fed up too quickly.making a puzzle game is a puzzle itself as you first have to come up with a puzzle . so I will probably not go with this idea but I am very interested to make a puzzle game in thew future
