for this post I will attempt the extra credit growth and mindset task. I read "this article" . this article was very interesting altogether. i completely agree that being graded in school can be very emotional on certain people and can hurt a persons confidence.
I agree that not everyone who gets top marks can be unhappy with them as they do not understand why it was so easy and there is usually a huge divide between the top and bottom people in the class from their grades. grades can be a good way to control students like it says in this article but overall they just cause arguments between students and make people who just cant get the top marks ever even if they studied for days feel really bad about themselves.
I like the teacher who set up meetings with them this should benefit the students and make them feel more comfortable in the class. overall this extra credit article was very interesting to read and has changed my view on all things to do with gradings in school and colleges.

Hi Aaron,
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with the points that you have made in this post. I haven't actually done a 'growth/mindset' reading since the very first one, so it was nice to read over this and have a little break from game design. I believe this week is our last week of extra credits, so you've inspired me to do a growth and mindset one now!
