growth and mindset

for this post I will attempt the extra credit growth and mindset task. I read "this article" . this article was very interesting altogether. i completely agree that being graded in school can be very emotional on certain people and can hurt a persons confidence.
I agree that not everyone who gets top marks can be unhappy with them as they do not understand why it was so easy and there is usually a huge divide between the top and bottom people in the class from their grades. grades can be a good way to control students like it says in this article but overall they just cause arguments between students and make people who just cant get the top marks ever even if they studied for days feel really bad about themselves.
I like the teacher who set up meetings with them this should benefit the students and make them feel more comfortable in the class. overall this extra credit article was very interesting to read and has changed my view on all things to do with gradings in school and colleges.

  1. Hi Aaron,

I completely agree with the points that you have made in this post. I haven't actually done a 'growth/mindset' reading since the very first one, so it was nice to read over this and have a little break from game design. I believe this week is our last week of extra credits, so you've inspired me to do a growth and mindset one now!

Introduction Post

My name is Aaron Comiskey and I am 20 years old. I currently study CDM in Blanchardstown and I love the course. I live in Kilmessan, Meath with my family but I hope to move out soon when I get enough money together. I want to be a video editor when I am finished college and maybe work for companies such as BBC or RTE(you have to aim big or you will fail). During this term I want to get better at all things to do with video but I also want to give the other stuff like web design and game development a chance as I may end up loving them and actually want to go into that area after college. I have many hobbies. I am big into the gym and love lifting weights , it makes you feel better and look better so why not do it. I love football and I am a huge Manchester United fan even though we are rubbish now. I play tennis the odd time when I am not too busy also. I post fitness content online not to show off my body or muscles (even though I am proud of the results) More so that I can keep u...

Unity tutuorial 06

Hello guys and welcome back to my blog. For this blog I will talk about my experience with the unity tutorial 6 . As you should already know I am doing the create with code side of unity this term and I really want improve my overall game coding skills. I am happy with progress so far but I still have a long way to go.                                                 Sound and effects The first tutorial was actually pretty easy but it was really enjoyable. I had tried to add in sound effects to my final game last semester but it failed badly . this tutorial really simplified the process of adding audio to a game and made it actually really easy to follow.  I really enjoyed the quiz at the end of this tutorial even though I got one answer wrong which annoyed me a bit .                         ...

unity fail

to be brutally honest I never understood unity at all this year and tried to mainly focus on the readings and all the extra credit. hoping that would be enough to pass this course. I still have very high points as I have done so many extra credit and all the blogs / unity tutorials. I have a game started but to be honest it was a mess and with al;l the other assigments it is not going well. I will try get more of it done to show on wednesday but I am not too confident. over this course I have really enjoyed the readings and I have done the extra credit lots but my final game is kinda all over the place. I wanted to do a platformer but that failed big time and the coding in this just makes no sense at all to me.
