Feedback thoughts

So before I looked at these articles I first thought about feedback. On the one hand I find feedback very important as it really helps to see what mistakes you have in your work and learn form them but in other circumstances I think feedback can be too harsh and can put a person off something before they have every started.

The first article that I read was called"a fixed mindset". This really opened up my eyes to how a fixed mindset can have dreadful consequences for people. It also got me thinking about myself and how I may have a fixed mindset too. I like to think that I am amazing at all stuff to do with video and that and when I get criticism I just brush it off and say their jealous of me but after reading this I am now open to more criticism. I also firmly believe with the point made in the article that always praising a child can make them fragile . This sis so true as so many people will grow up and not be used to any sort of criticism no matter how small it is and when it happens they will not know how to react. From reading this I have changed how I think and I hope to be more open to criticism and not give out to people for mistakes so quickly.

The second article that I read was called "why rejection hurts so much". This article kinda resounded with me as I have been in the past a few times. it really helped me to hear that the greatest damage rejection causes is self-damage. I used to always look at myself and what I did wrong after a rejection but this article has changed my mindset on that. from now on I will try to see how great of a person I am and when I do get rejected I wont get too down on myself as I know there will be people out there who will appreciate me for who I am, I just got to find them.

Introduction Post

My name is Aaron Comiskey and I am 20 years old. I currently study CDM in Blanchardstown and I love the course. I live in Kilmessan, Meath with my family but I hope to move out soon when I get enough money together. I want to be a video editor when I am finished college and maybe work for companies such as BBC or RTE(you have to aim big or you will fail). During this term I want to get better at all things to do with video but I also want to give the other stuff like web design and game development a chance as I may end up loving them and actually want to go into that area after college. I have many hobbies. I am big into the gym and love lifting weights , it makes you feel better and look better so why not do it. I love football and I am a huge Manchester United fan even though we are rubbish now. I play tennis the odd time when I am not too busy also. I post fitness content online not to show off my body or muscles (even though I am proud of the results) More so that I can keep u...

Games MDA

https://www.developereconomics.com/break-game-design-part-1-get-started To start off this I watched the video that you linked on the website. The first thing I got from this video was the mechanics and dynamics of a game. these are vital to how you game will look and play. mechanics are the rules or constraints for the game e.g kill 50 zombies on dead island 2 and you complete level 3 .  dynamics go a bit more in depth but they go into what strategies go into figuring out the rules of the game  e.g you have to jump 5 times to kill a mushroom boss in mario 2.  Each game is made up of several different abstractions. the next thing that really made me think was that we need to get past using words such as fun. I fully agree with this as so many different people mind different things fun and others find them boring so instead of using the word fun try use the words "well made".  this article was quite confusing to understand at time but I still do think it gave me...

unity free tutorials

so today I was super busy trying to get an alpha of my website completed so I only got time to do one unity tutorial but the tutorial that I did do has helped me put the final pieces to my game so I am pleased with that aspect of it to be honest. i watched this tutorial . This tutorial was really interesting and I liked how the guy broke it down really well and made it super easy to follow. A main menu is something I should have had before I suppose but i just never thought about it which is stupid I I know.  I liked how it actually was not that hard to code and you could easily change the buttons and menu layout to suit whatever game it was you are making. this tutorial did drag on a good but near the end but I manged to follow it through to the end and I am very happy with what I have learned from it, overall today unity tutorial was great as it really helped me finalize parts of my game and make it look more professional which is exactly what I wanted.
