week 1

This module is completely new to me as I have never even attempted to make a game before and I have never used a blog before. I really like the way this module is done as you get chances each week to get marks and not all the marks go on the game at the end. I also think the blogs will be a very fun and a great way to keep people engaged in the module. I am happy I get to write about my experience as maybe some of the problems I have and some things that worked for me will help others when they read my blog.

I am really looking forward to making a game and seeing if I have interest in that area. I never though I wanted to go into game development but when I see this module and how fun unity looks to use it may change my mine. I hope that I will pick up the tools in unity pretty quickly and hopefully I will make a playable game at the end of this module.

I love the interactivity of this course as it keeps us all connected and will allow us all to help each other. I usually do not like group work as it always ends in arguments as someone does not pull their weight or someone has a different idea than another person .

Overall I am very excited to start this module fully and I will give it my best effort to hopefully pass with flying colours.

Introduction Post

My name is Aaron Comiskey and I am 20 years old. I currently study CDM in Blanchardstown and I love the course. I live in Kilmessan, Meath with my family but I hope to move out soon when I get enough money together. I want to be a video editor when I am finished college and maybe work for companies such as BBC or RTE(you have to aim big or you will fail). During this term I want to get better at all things to do with video but I also want to give the other stuff like web design and game development a chance as I may end up loving them and actually want to go into that area after college. I have many hobbies. I am big into the gym and love lifting weights , it makes you feel better and look better so why not do it. I love football and I am a huge Manchester United fan even though we are rubbish now. I play tennis the odd time when I am not too busy also. I post fitness content online not to show off my body or muscles (even though I am proud of the results) More so that I can keep u...

Unity tutuorial 06

Hello guys and welcome back to my blog. For this blog I will talk about my experience with the unity tutorial 6 . As you should already know I am doing the create with code side of unity this term and I really want improve my overall game coding skills. I am happy with progress so far but I still have a long way to go.                                                 Sound and effects The first tutorial was actually pretty easy but it was really enjoyable. I had tried to add in sound effects to my final game last semester but it failed badly . this tutorial really simplified the process of adding audio to a game and made it actually really easy to follow.  I really enjoyed the quiz at the end of this tutorial even though I got one answer wrong which annoyed me a bit .                         ...

unity fail

to be brutally honest I never understood unity at all this year and tried to mainly focus on the readings and all the extra credit. hoping that would be enough to pass this course. I still have very high points as I have done so many extra credit and all the blogs / unity tutorials. I have a game started but to be honest it was a mess and with al;l the other assigments it is not going well. I will try get more of it done to show on wednesday but I am not too confident. over this course I have really enjoyed the readings and I have done the extra credit lots but my final game is kinda all over the place. I wanted to do a platformer but that failed big time and the coding in this just makes no sense at all to me.
